The Andrew and Amy Vaughan Student Symphonic Program Announces Fellows

 

Elise Shen from George Washington High School and Tristan Hott from Hampshire High School have been selected as Fellows as a result of their audition and interviews on Saturday, December 8, 2007 before a selection panel.

The selected Fellow(s) sit "on stage" with musicians throughout different sections of the orchestra during rehearsals, may meet nationally and internationally renowned guest artists, and will conduct personal research about the pieces that the orchestra will perform during the second half of the symphonic series and the upcoming opera West Side Story.

Past Fellows have gone onto promising academic study at West Virginia University, Alderson & Broaddus College, Ithaca College, NY, North Texas University, Marshall University, the Cleveland Conservatory of Music, and the Ohio State University.

This program is only one of a select few programs of its kind throughout in North America and has been recognized by the American Symphony Orchestra League for its innovation.  This program is adapted from the previous Young Conductor's Fellowship.
