Glenn Proffit, Trombone

Glenn Proffit is the bass trombonist for the West Virginia Symphony and the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra.  Mr. Proffit received his Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University, and his Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston.  He has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony, and has been a member of the Chicago Civic Symphony and the Dayton Philharmonic. Glenn is also a member of School House Symphony which performs over 200 educational concerts throughout the greater Cincinnati area annually. Glenn maintains a private teaching studio in his home in West Chester, teaching trombone, tuba, and euphonium/baritone. In addition to music Glenn is also an active triathlete and duathlete, and studies Japanese Karate-Do.

... owns two retired racing Greyhounds named Peanut and Crackerjack, who are brother and sister.
... likes to garden and have over 70 rose bushes.
... will become a first degree black belt by the summer of 2012.
... has been racing triathlons (swim, bike, and run) and duathlons (run, bike, and run) since 2003 and has participated in over 50 races.
... has two children, the oldest of which (his daughter) also plays trombone.
